These are a striking pair of very rare brass slip-shade sconces with a polychrome finish on the fixture body and hand painted amber shades featuring a Tuscan harvest scene. These are very usual and emit a soft amber glow when illuminated. The Gill Glass and Fixture Company (often abbreviated as Gillco) was a premier American glass manufacturer and lighting designer operating in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1876 until the late 1950s. The company was highly revered during the Art Deco era for producing some of the highest-quality, most luxurious commercial and residential illuminating glassware in the United States. Visible wear is present and consistent with their antique age, dating back nearly 100 years from 1930.
