Design Plus Gallery presents a 1920’s Tudor Revival Carved Walnut Highboard Cabinet by Empire Manufacturing Company. This antique highboard displays ornate raised panels, carved grape cluster accents, scrolled apron details, turned supports, bun feet, and pierced metal ring pulls. The upper cabinet includes paneled doors with dimensional scrollwork, while the lower case includes carved drawer fronts over an open lower shelf. Empire Mfg. Co. was based in Rockford, Illinois, a recognized furniture-making center during the early twentieth century. Walnut grain variation, paneled sides, and layered moldings give the piece a detailed period presence. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage.
