Design Plus Gallery presents a Rural Landscape Painting Signed by Robert Hill in 1945. Robert Hill (1932-1990) was a painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Watford, Hertfordshire, where he lived. This painting is significant as it shows his talent prior to his formal eduction. Hill studied at Watford School of Art and Royal Academy Schools in 1950s, where he several times won the David Murray Scholarship in landscape, plus other awards, teachers including Henry Rushbury, Peter Greenham and Bernard Fleetwood-Walker. The oil work is in a nicely, likely original frame and shows wear that is consistent with age + use.
