Design Plus Gallery presents an Early 20th Century Mizuya-Dansu Tansu. Elm wood is beautiuflly handcrafted into a plethora of compartments. Kitchen tansu chests come from the Edo period in Japan and signify a sign of rising prosperity and refined dining and cooking practices. Lower half of unit has a generous open storage space accessed by sliding panels. Top half of tansu contains seven small drawers with two sliding paneled open spaces. Screened space has lighting incorporated for a modern touch. Minor wear and charm due to age, good condition. Original oiled brass hardware in tact.
