Platner believed that modernism could encompass “the kind of decorative, gentle, graceful design that appeared in a period style like Louis XV,” and this ethos informs the side table’s silhouette. The table’s base is a mesmerizing, sculptural cage of curved steel rods, each welded together in a production process that requires up to 1,000 individual welds. The result is both airy and structurally precise, a perfect balance of form and function that appears almost weightless while remaining undeniably sturdy. Brand plate is found on the base and the table is in good condition, visible and minimal wear. Made in Italy.
