Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage reproduction Wassily Chair. The 1925 Marcel Breer design known as the “Wassily,” after the painter Kandinsky, the designer’s fellow Bauhaus instructor, is the inspiration for the chair. A mere outline of a traditional overstuffed club chair, the overstitched leather straps supporting the sitter seems to float in space. After their meeting in New York in 1962, Dino Gavina started the mass production of Marcel Breuer’s tubular chrome furniture designed in the Bauhaus period, including the Wassily lounge chair. Vintage condition consistent with age and use.
