Vintage Harry Bertoia Side Chairs by Knoll, Set of 5

Design Plus Gallery presents a Set of Five Harry Bertoia Chrome Steel Dining Chairs that are Vintage from Knoll International. Hans and Florence Knoll invited Italian-American artist Harry Bertoia in 1950 to work with their new design firm, Knoll International. Through an open-ended experimentation the 1952 Bertoia Side chair was created. Bertoia considered his collection of chairs created for Knoll to be “mainly made of air, like sculpture,” as he bent steel wire into striking lightweight forms while also earning a progressive approach to the ergonomics of seating. They all come with original black leather seat cushion padding for the seat and back. The chairs maintain a good condition, with many years of use ahead of them.
