SOLD!
Design Plus Gallery presents a Sculpture of Guanine on a Wood Stand. The Buddhist Bodhisattva of compassion, is a deity that was often depicted in Yuan dynasty art in a female form. Origins in ancient India, first named Avalokitesvara, which means ‘one who hears the world’s cries”. In this bronze version, she has a benevolent expression and downcast eyes under elegantly arching brows. The sculpture radiates serenity and compounds calm. Light surface wear; condition is consistent with age and use.
