Vintage Fletcher’s House Promotional Flyer, Mounted and Framed

$99 $63

Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Fletcher’s House Promotional Flyer, Mounted and Framed. The Fletcher’s House, an ancient building in Rye, East Sussex, England. The building, a 14th-century structure, the birthplace of the Jacobean dramatist John Fletcher in 1579, a collaborator of William Shakespeare. While a sign on the current building in Lion Street makes this claim, historical records indicate that he was actually born in a house that previously stood on the site of the nearby Old Vicarage in Church Square, which was replaced in the 18th century. After centuries of private occupation, the house was opened to the public view and became a tearoom in 1932. It has since been transformed and is now a popular and successful bar and restaurant. In good condition, minimal wear from usage.
