Design Plus Gallery presents an English-Style Secretary with Bookcase Desk. This piece reflects the multi-functional forms popular in 18th and 19th-century England and follows a classic two-piece construction with an upper bookcase and a lower secretary chest. The upper cabinet has astragal glazing with glass panes doors divided by wooden bars that open to interior shelving suited to books and display. The center section includes a slant-front panel that drops down to a leather padded writing surface with small drawers and cubbies for organizing papers and correspondence. The lower case is built with six drawers that provide enclosed storage with the original brass drawer pulls. It is in good vintage condition with visible + minimal wear from use.
