Design Plus Gallery presents the Bastiano Sofa from Knoll by Tobia Scarpa. The “Bastiano” sofa by Afra & Tobia Scarpa, designed for Knoll in 1962, epitomizes architectural design and luxury. The sofa’s arms are lower than the back, creating a distinctive square shape. Built from rosewood, the structure includes seat borders, arm sides, and under-seat and back sections in geometric flat shapes. The rosewood is varnished with clear enamel, enhancing its natural beauty and durability. All materials are original, thus showing signs of wear that are considered to be consistent with their vintage age + use. Breakage occurred to the back wood frame and has been repaired.
