Thomas Moran, known for his stunning landscapes of the American West, created imagery of our natural wonders throughout the world. “In 1873, Thomas Moran joined John Wesley Powell on an expedition to the Grand Canyon where he painted this view from the Kaibab Plateau on the north rim. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, which at the time provided the only direct route to the Grand Canyon, published Moran’s painting as a chromolithograph as an advertising piece.”Artist signature and date on lower right, framed with protective glass. Little surface wear; condition is good.
