Design Plus Gallery presents an Antique Wedding Armoire from the ShanXi Province. Created in the North-Eastern province of Shanxi during the Qing dynasty in the 19th century, this wedding cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by its original red lacquer. The cabinet showcases two doors fitted with a traditional lock, opening to reveal an inner shelf with two drawers and a hidden compartment concealed under a removable panel. Chinese wedding cabinets often housed wedding gifts or the dowry of a new bride. One leg has lost its lacquer finish and has its raw, dry wood underneath and is in fair condition for its antique age.
