These director-style chairs showcase the distinctive modernist geometry associated with Jakobsen’s patented design. Each chair has a chrome-plated square-tube steel frame formed into sculptural X-shaped supports, straight open arms, and a rectangular base accented by a slender horizontal stretcher. Black textured sling faux leather forms the seats and backrests, creating a streamlined profile against the polished metal framework. The original manufacturer’s label remains attached beneath one chair and identifies Virtue Bros. Mfg. Co. of Compton, California, along with Patent No. 212879. The upholstery displays natural creasing, surface markings, and age-related wear consistent with vintage use. This is a discontinued model with the brand, and they are in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage. Made in the USA.
