Reproduction of Michelangelo Libyan Sibyl From the Sistene Chapel, Framed

Design Plus Gallery presents the Libyan Sibyl, a Reproduction Artwork found in the Sistine Chapel and created by the one and only Michelangelo. Michelangelo’s fresco of the Libyan Sibyl in the Sistine Chapel symbolizes the ancient world’s prophetic anticipation of Christianity, particularly the coming of Christ. The figure, who was a priestess at the Oracle of Zeus-Ammon in the Libyan desert, holds a large book of prophecies, foretelling that “that which is hidden shall be revealed”. This prophecy was interpreted by Renaissance scholars as an allusion to the birth and teachings of Christ, linking the pagan tradition to Christian theology and representing a pre-Christian understanding of divine truth. This art piece is in good condition with a thin, gold rim of a frame not taking away from its message.
