Popliteo David and Goliath Sculpture, Signed

Design Plus Gallery presents David & Goliath from Popliteo. Luis Montoya and Leslie Ortiz are the artist that collaborate under the brand name Popliteo. The work of these two artists is based on re-creating natural forms-traditionally considered foreign to the idea of art such as eggs, artichokes, mollusks, bananas, olives, shrimp and grapes, among others-and carrying them to an exaggerated scale. The pieces appear to come from a surrealistic scene, challenging perception and all sense of proportion to be exhibited in the gallery or museum space in an even more surrealistic gesture. David & Goliath has two practically identical pears in sizes that are far to grand and far too small to be realistic. The small pear is wrapped up and hung on a scale with the large pear bound and held on the top. The base of the sculpture is a foot that resembles a foot from a bird. The artists have sketched their collaborative name and the number 6 of 6 on the base. It is in good condition with minimal wear for its usage.
