Design Plus Gallery presents a 1919 Armchair, designed by Renzo Frau for Poltroon Frau. Upholstered in leather. Originally designed in 1919 as a custom order for the Filiberto Ludovico of Savoy, Duke of Pistoia, the armchair is one of the company’s biggest early successes. The chair reinterpreted the bergere model and added a capitonne on the back rest, giving it a quilted appearance. The right arm has a bookstand with arm that can be used to hold ashtrays. The frame is made for solid beech. biconical springs and jute belts comprise the spring system in the seat, back and armrests. The castors and metal parts are in a gold finish. Minor wear from use; chair is in good condition. Made in Italy.
