Design Plus Gallery presents the Ribbon Chair + Ottoman by Pierre Paulin for Artifort. The Ribbon Chair and matching ottoman are mid-century masterpieces defined by their continuous, flowing, ribbon-like form. Inspired by the Mobius strip, the sculptural chair abandons traditional legs in favor of a striking, cantilevered design on a lacquered metal base. A triumph of ergonomics and applied art, the Ribbon set is built with a tubular metal frame covered in horizontal springs and molded foam, dressed in a highly elastic stretch fabric Kvadrat wool in a cognac brown tone. They show signs of wear that are consistent with their vintage + mid 20th century usage, overall good condition. Made in the Netherlands.
