Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Black Lacquer Extension Dining Table + Eight Chairs by Pierre Cardin from Roche Bobois. Dating to the 1970s, this Italian-made Postmodern dining set showcases sculptural forms, geometric detailing, and contrasting gold-tone accents throughout. The rectangular dining table has a high-gloss black lacquered tabletop adorned with intersecting gold-tone inlay lines that create a geometric grid pattern. Its architectural base consists of angular legs accented by vertical gold-tone detailing. The table includes an extension mechanism that allows the tabletop to expand while maintaining its distinctive design. The eight coordinating dining chairs have tall, flared split backs connected by horizontal gold-tone accents in a ladder-inspired arrangement. Each chair has a glossy black lacquered wood frame, a gently contoured black leather upholstered seat, and angular legs. The matching materials, sculptural profiles, and metallic detailing reflect the bold design aesthetic of the period. These are discontinued models with the brand and are in good condition with visible wear, including surface scratches, minor marks, and wear from usage. Made in Italy.
