Design Plus Gallery presents an 18th Century Low Back Philadelphia Windsor Settee. This settee is the eight legged version that shows all carved knuckles legs connected by a stretchers with precision for strength. There are thirty-seven tapered spindles altogether; a semi-circular arm rail with applied crest and knuckle terminals, vase-and-ring-turned arm supports; eight vase-and-ring-turned legs, tapered feet; seven H-form stretchers (medials – bulbous center with side rings, sides – bulbous center with side rings); and an overall scooped, elongated shape. The over 200 year old bench is in splendid condition with minimal wear for its antique usage. Made in the USA
