Design Plus Gallery presents a Mercure Ceiling/Wall Lamp Designed by Patrick Jouin and Luecos. Jouin explored a traditional Murano glass blowing technique called pulegoso and up-dated it to create a decidedly contemporary light that dazzles. Mercure is made by adding a mist of water between the layers of the hand-blown glass (vetro incamiciato). The mist evaporates between the layers of molten glass and creates bubble patterns that are unique to each lamp. The glass is then dimpled to create a further ripple effect across the surface and finally an inside portion of the glass is chromed to create a mirror finish. The result is pulegoso stars of light that dance on the chromed front surface while light pours from behind the fixture to create a beautiful, illuminating back light. In good condition, minimal wear from usage.
