Design Plus Gallery presents Seashells Published for Oliver Goldsmith’s Animated Nature. It’s original was a hand-colored engraving for “A History of the Earth and Animated Nature” by Oliver Goldsmith (1730-1774), published between 1848 and 1852 by A. Fullerton & Company of Edinburgh and London. This plate held the likeness of thirteen seashells as studied by Goldsmith. It is framed in a light weight solid wood frame with distress from age. Overall it is in good condition for its usage.
