The octagonal ceramic body is finished in a deep, inky navy glaze and adorned with hand-crafted impasto floral branches. The flowers were formed using hand applied clay slip or molded ceramic elements added before glazing, a technique commonly used in Asian export lamps from the 1950s–1970s.
