Design Plus Gallery presents an Extra Large Brand New World Floor Lamp by Moooi. Designed by Freshwest in the Netherlands, and began as a concept piece of random construction in the style of old Far Eastern bamboo scaffolding. Each piece of oak is carefully notched and pegged together, resembling a craft project, to form an integral part of the raw mechanical structure and “shade”. A simple ceramic socket shows a single 20W bulb for illumination; 118″ red fabric cord; the base is cast iron weighted as shown. Little evidence of wear; condition is consistent with age and use.
