Design Plus Gallery presents a Mid 20th Century Cobalt Blue Slant Atomic Orb Ashtray Bowl from Viking Glass. Crafted from richly hued, translucent cobalt blue glass, the ashtray features a distinctively modernist bowl set at a dramatic slant—a stylistic flourish that showcases the glassmaker’s creative flair and expertise. Supported by three point tripod base, the piece echoes the “atomic” motif popular in the 1950s and 60s, reminiscent of both futuristic orbs forms. Its smoothly curved contours and glossy, reflective surface catch and play with the light, making it as much a decorative object as a functional piece. The center of the bowl is smoothly recessed, while one indentation along the rim serve as resting place for a cigarette. The brand logo sticker was removed. In good condition, minimal wear from usage.
