Design Plus Gallery presents a Mid 20th Century Gaetano Sciolari “Knife-Blade” Five Tier + Fifteen Light Chandelier. Five brass tiers radiate from the center in a symmetrical fashion. Elongated oval crystals are attached with coordinating brass pins through the tiers. Comes with coordinating chain and canopy. Minor wear, good condition. One light socket does not work. Visible patina on the brass.
About Designer:
Gaetano Sciolari was the head designer for Stilnovo in the 50’s in Italy which created some of the most well known and celebrated lighting designs which are still relevant today. These llights were known for their mix of glossy and matte finishes and futuristic space forward thinking. Eventually these designs were produced through the American Market with Lightolier. Many of his designs were seen in popular cinema + tv shows due to their futuristic and luxe look which made full circle moment with his first love being for production in the movies.
