Mark N. Crislip “Raving Democrat” Original Pop Art Painting

Design Plus Gallery presents an Original Pop Art Painting titled “Raving Democrat” by Mark N. Crislip, dated 2002. This artwork depicts a playful female figure with purple hair styled in an updo, expressive golden eyes, and a mischievous smile. Her raised hand forms a gesture in the foreground, while a lavender background and bold black outlines emphasize the comic book-inspired composition. The handwritten phrase “Dude…My Parents Vote Republican!” appears across the upper portion of the canvas, introducing a humorous political commentary. The combination of exaggerated facial expressions, graphic linework, and vibrant colors reflects the influence of Pop Art and contemporary comic illustration. The painting is executed on stretched canvas and is signed, titled, and dated on the reverse by the artist. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage, including minor surface marks and wear along the canvas edges.
