Design Plus Gallery presents Sutro Baths 1900, San Fransisciana by Marilyn Blaisdell. The work is an offset print from pictures that she maintained as a historian of San Francisco history. Marilyn Blaisdell (1928–2016) was a prominent historian and collector dedicated to preserving the visual history of San Francisco, particularly the Sutro Baths. Her work serves as a primary archival resource for the landmark’s 1894 opening through its destruction by fire in 1966. She produced iconic posters and art prints, such as this widely recognized “Sutro Baths 1900” print, which captures the massive glass-and-steel structure in its prime. The piece is in good condition as encased in a natural wood frame.
