This armchair has a dark brown wooden frame with gilt-style striping, scroll arms, and nailhead trim along the seat rail. The most breathtaking detail on this chair are the large metal lions head that symbolizes power, courage, authority, and guardianship. Integrating the “king of the jungle” into furniture projected wealth, high social status, and protection, serving as a regal motif that connected the owner with royalty. To complete the refined sensibilities there is a cognac toned leather seat that dramatically contrasts the dramatic frame, while the curved back, carved detailing, and metal caster feet give the piece a stately antique-inspired presence. It is in good vintage condition; visible surface scratches and natural patina, finish wear from usage. This is a discontinued model with the brand. Made in the Philippines.
