Design Plus Gallery presents a Vintage Reproduction Print “The Nakamanjiro Public Bath” by Kunisada II, a pupil of Kunisada. The original, painted in 1869, is an exaggerated depiction done in bright colors, a departure at the time from the traditional style of Japanese woodblock printing (ukiyo-e). In 1846, the artist married his master’s daughter, took go of Kunisada II. Later after Kunisada’s death, he began to use go of Toyokuni IV. Professionally matted and framed in black lacquered wood, protected under glass. Condition is good.
