Design Plus Gallery presents “What is Truth” a large scale Mixed Media Painting by California artist Jylian Gustin, 2002. Computer graphics programming meets oil and acrylic, scratching in the complex layered effects a colorful and intricate figure emerges from the shadows. In good condition.
“With an artist mother and IBM computer scientist father, Jylian was a first-generation digital baby surrounded by art. Her father taught her computer programming, while her mother’s influence inspired her at age 3 to mural the four walls of her bedroom with a box of crayons. Favoring two-part epoxy resin, oil and acrylic paints, charcoal, wax, gold leaf, pastel, and graphite, Jylian draws, paints, and even scratches on the surfaces of her compositions. Many of her paintings are influenced by figurative artists such as Nathan Oliveira. She continues to explore the intersection between science and the arts.
