Design Plus Gallery presents the Profile Coffee Table Designed by John Van Koert for Drexel Furniture. The Profile collection was designed and released in mid-1955. The low profile and rectangular streamlined top raised on angled square tapering legs and features a distinct recessed shelf. The slim space between the two-tiers keeps the overall look super sleek. Notably, he was the director of “Design in Scandinavia,” a traveling museum (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland) museum exhibited in 27 cities in the United States from 1954-1957. Showcasing pieces that helped spark the US interest in Danish design, whose influence can be seen in this coffee table. The coffee table is in good condition for its vintage age + use. Brand stamp and date May 1956 are on the underside. Made In the USA.
