Design Plus Gallery presents a Set of Eight Block Island Dining Chairs by Donghia. From the limited production Block Island collection created by John Hutton (1947-2006) for Donghia, circa 1995. Each chair bears a stamp on its underside. This design is Hutton’s graphic, highly textured interpretation of the work of Jean-Michel Frank. This stunning set of eight dining chairs (two with arms) is handcrafted from solid oak framework overlaid with an intricate basket-woven design using cane rattan in a light natural finish. Custom, welted seat cushions in a contemporary textured jacquard with zippers (for cleaning or replacement) snap to the frame to fit snugly. Fabric shows soil and wear; frames are in good condition for age and use.
