Design Plus Gallery presents By the River an Oil on Canvas Painting by Jennifer Goodwin. The work is unusual as two figures are languishing by a water source, peacefully however the artist has used a layer of red to perforate the tranquility of the scene. The artist has signed the painting on the lower right side with a paper print on the backside with artist name, title, gallery shown at, and the suggested price. It is encased in a dark brown frame with no matte between. It is in good condition with minimal wear for its usage.

Artist Statement:
British Columbia on the West Coast of Canada is a kingdom of natural beauty. Lush verdant rain forests co- exist side by side with ever expanding modern cities, as both vie for air and space. It is easy to see the human encroachment of lands once reserved for nature and animals. From the city of Vancouver one can plainly see the vast deforestation of mountains. With the disappearance of trees, the natural habitat of birds and animals is gone too, probably forever. As we impinge upon natures’ world, we can expect that nature will have no other recourse than to move more into the cities. The visual reminders of deforestation and encroachment are always present in my daily life and impact my thought and art making process. The use of recycling materials in my studio is a large part of my practice.
