Design Plus Gallery presets a Set of Six Woodcut Prints by Japanese Artist Hiroshige Utagawa. These color woodcuts on paper were taken from the series of “The Fifty-Three Stations of Tokaido” that was created after Hiroshige’s first trip along the Tokaido road in 1832. The Tokaido road was connected to the shogun capital, Edo and was the main route of travel and trade in ancient Japan. Of the fifty three many mainly focused on the nature found along the route, as the six here represent. They are equal in size with identical frame + matting, perfect to display as a series. In good condition, with one missing the cardboard backing. Wear from age.
