Design Plus Gallery presents an Antique Bookshelf with Empire Style. Empire style faux book-front cabinet has heads of Apollo and arrow fletching’s on top of each of its four columns. The lowest shelf has a line of faux fronted books that drops down to reveal hidden storage. There is a key on the right side that can safely lock away items for concealment. The detail work is extraordinary, note twisting acanthus leaves spiraling up the column, a Louis XVI staple that trickles down from the work of Jean-Henri Riesener and Adam Weisweiler. It is in good condition with minimal wear for its usage.
