This dramatic bronze sculpture of a Cheyenne warrior riding a galloping horse across the Great Plains, with all four of the horse’s hooves suspended in mid-air. The warrior is leaning low over the horse’s neck, holding a spear in his left hand. Draped bison hide flows out from the side of the horse, creating a sense of rapid movement. Rendered in the distinctive 1900s painterly and realist style of Frederic Remington, rich dark bronze patination, dynamic motion, highly detailed anatomy, museum lighting. The warrior is missing his quirt in the right hand. Overall fair condition.
