Design Plus Gallery presents a Mid 20th Century Tulip Stool by Eero Saarinen. The iconic tulip shaped form is paired with a round upholstered seat in caramel brown leather, creating a sculptural profile with fluid lines and a balanced silhouette. The cast aluminum base is coated in white and contrasts with the tailored cushion, which has a thick cushioned form with piped edge detail. Originally introduced as part of Saarinen’s effort to eliminate what he called the “slum of legs,” the design remains one of the most recognizable forms of twentieth century furniture. It is in good condition with visible patina and minimal wear from usage with brand label not found on the stool.
