The iconic Tulip Table offers a round marble top with naturally white with gray veining that is supported by the collection’s signature pedestal base in a heavy molded cast aluminum with black paint. The brand plate is found on the underside of the tabletop for authenticity. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage and comes without the attaching bolts. Made in Italy.

About the Design/er: In his purist approach to design, Finnish-born Eero Saarinen sought out the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution. Saarinen explained that “the underside of typical chairs and tables makes a confusing, unrestful world,” and said, “I wanted to clear up the slum of legs.” In his pedestal collection, which includes dining, coffee, and side tables, he realized his ideal of formal unity, stating, “Every significant piece of furniture has a holistic structure.” The design received the 1969 Museum of Modern Art Award.
