Design Plus Gallery presents a Standard King Annecy Metal-Wrapped Bed from Restoration Hardware. Drawing inspiration from French industrial designs of the early 20th century, their collection celebrates the art of hand-wrapped sheet metal. Painstakingly constructed, each piece features sheet metal secured by thousands of hand-hammered nails using a centuries-old technique. In a finishing process that takes from 7-10 days per silhouette, the metal is buffed by hand and antiqued through oxidation, displaying highs and lows that reveal the artisan’s hand. Its warm patina only grows richer over time. Oxidation has occurred on the headboard but overall is in good condition for its age + use.
