Design Plus Gallery presents an East Lake Victorian Tufted Arm Chair. Castor leg fronts with turned wood and raised + button tufted carved back make up the staples of East Lake style. Carvings adorn the oak with Chestnut stain. Fabric and wood surfaces show wear and could use re-finishing. Seat does sit low and would be ideal in a den, around a gaming table or living space as accent seating.

The Eastlake Movement was a nineteenth-century architectural and household design reform movement started by British architect and writer Charles Eastlake. The movement is generally considered part of the late Victorian period in terms of broad antique furniture designations. One of the core principles of this style was that Eastlake thought that the furniture in people’s homes should be good looking and be made by manufacturers who enjoyed their work
