Design Plus Gallery presents a Pair of Early 20th Century Neoclassical Hand Painted Screens fashioned after “The Passage of Telemchus on the Island of Calypso.” Hand block printed pastoral setting shows an expansive landscape with architecture, figures and the beauty of nature on a dynamic day. There is visible wear through out, pair is in good condition. Screens were manufactured by Joseph Dufour et Cie and ranged in production from 1818 up until the first world war. The company revolutionized panoramic wallpaper with their first success being the “Les Sauvages de la Mer Pacifique” which was created in 1805.
