Design Plus Gallery presents a Early 20th Century Chinese Elm Opium Wedding Canopy Daybed. Solid elm is masterfully crafted into the expansive canopy bed frame with a red stain. Platform frame has added bonus with storage within with latched compartments. An open trellis fretwork adorns the posts and canopy with medallions, and carvings of plants, dragons and animals. There is visible wear and patina through out. There are carvings of Southern Chinese “Peppers”. Daybed is in good condition.
