Design Plus Gallery presents a Set of Six Klismos Style Dining Side Chairs from Design Institute of America. The klismos chair is an iconic ancient Greek design, known for its elegant, light appearance and comfortable, body-cradling curves. The chair has splayed, curved legs and a wide, concave backrest that supports the sitter’s shoulders. The design was popularized in the 5th century BCE and has been frequently revived in various design movements, from Neoclassical to modern. The medium brown wood frame has a complimentary rose pink upholstered seat with a repeating houndstooth pattern of gray. There is wear the seats from regulars usage and finish conditions on the back of the chairs. They are considered to still be in good condition.
