Design Plus Gallery presents “Destino”, a Serigraph from the Collaboration of Walt Disney Studios + Salvador Dali in 1946. Destino is the name of a Mexican ballad Disney had envisioned as a vehicle for a musical short film project. Dali was attracted to Destino’s title and the concept of destiny attracting two lovers. In 1946, Salvador Dali began working at the Disney Studio every single day to make their now shared visual come to light. Unbeknownst to them, this was a project for the future and it took nearly five decades to get this onto the screen, in a format they would never have been able to conceive of in the beginnings of animation. This groundbreaking still comes with a certificate of appraisal and all pieces are in good condition for their age of release (2004) + use.
