Design Plus Gallery presents a Wintertime Landscape Oil Painting by Artist Steven L. Ball. The art piece is an original from 1977 with that and his signature at the lower left side. The mood is cold, peaceful, quiet as it is set in the wintertime with snow covering the ground completely and the homesteads roofing. Icicles cover the turbine and the fence is capped with snow suggesting a recent downfall of fresh powder. The art work is framed in a thick beveled frame of dark wood. The piece shows more wear on the backside but we considered it to be in good condition and consistent with its vintage age.
About the Artist:
“In the great tradition of Andrew Wyeth, Steven Louis Ball’s work goes beyond documentation to evoke or capture the mood and tell the story, as Steven sees and feels it. Always based on his own selection of subject, the goal is never to simply record but to infuse the scene or images with his personal expression and interpretation; something that can only be accomplished when the artist has the skills to document and the creativity to bring expression to the work. In Steven’s words, “Art allows me to explore nature and have a deeper understanding of its wonders. Watching that “moment” happen… when I see a Peregrine Falcon stoop off the side of a cliff and dive toward the ocean… it truly gets my inspiration flowing.”
