Design Plus Gallery presents an Original Painting by Artist Louis Monza (1897-1984) Entitled “Weeping Woman”, Signed + Dated 1944. A woman is presenting with a flower in one hand on her lap with her other hand holding a kerchief to her right eye. The tears are spilling and she is beside a large display of flowers and wearing black. “Weeping Woman” is touching and shows the devastation of soul in struggling with the loss of a loved one. The painting is in good condition for its decades old age and use.
Additional Information :
The Artist, Louis Monza, was self-taught. He created prints and sculpture as well as drawings and paintings. His work carried on a monologue of social and political commentary on topics ranging from technology and the arerospace industry to the effects of environmental pollution.
His work is in several permanent collections including the Oakland Museum of California and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American Art.
