Circa 1896 Japanese Meiji Bronze Temple Bell ‘Rin’

Design Plus Gallery presents a Late 19th century Japanese Meiji Temple Bell ‘Rin’. Finely cast in bronze and hand-hammered to a dimpled body that enriches both resonance and surface character. The thick-walled form presents a gently everted lip with a smooth, softly burnished rim from generations of ritual use. Used on Buddhist altars to mark meditation and sutra recitation. Very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Surface marks, minor tool traces. In good condition, visible and minimal wear. Does not come with gong.
