Design Plus Gallery presents a Lancaster Sack-Back Arm Chair from the Late 18th Century. The chairs has a bowed crest rail mortised into a continuous rear rail with eleven spindles, seven of which are full height. The continuous rail terminates in carved knuckle two-piece handholds above baluster and ring turned arm supports. All over an elliptical seat with carved gutter and a prominent pommel, the whole supported by four baluster, ring and socket legs, terminating in blunt arrow feet all joined by beautifully turned baluster and ring medial stretcher. There is visible wear to the antique chair that is consistent with its usage.
