Design Plus Gallery presents an Antique Food Cabinet, known as a Liangchu, from China. The style dates back to the Qing Dynasty to the Republic period (19th to mid-20th century). It is constructed from a dark stained solid hardwood framing with vertical bamboo panels designed for ventilation. It is used in kitchens for food storage or kitchenware. There are three enclosed compartments by the upper chamber cabinet doors that swing open to reveal shelving. The bottom compartment is accessed through sliding doors for shallow containment. It shows wear that is consistent with its antique usage but overall in good condition.
